I've never got the adulation for VU live recordings at all. I love the up close and personal sound of the 1st and 3rd albums especially, but the live stuff mostly sounds like shit and too much tedious jamming.

I think it's just a combination of getting older and feeling like I've heard it all before, quitting smoking weed, and wanting to catch up on reading which I'd neglected for quite a long time. I still love music but I just don't have the urge anymore. I think it's quite common.
Saw not one but TWO kingfishers in the park this morning. Not the first time I've seen one there, but this time I was able to watch them for a good five minutes darting about catching bugs off the surface of the water before they flew off. Hadn't realised how incredibly fast they are. Made my day.
