Can you find out when Jack Daniels is going to be released please.

I don't think Silencer was trying to hide that he sampled WW3 for WW4 :D

There are loads of producer sample packs around (Neptunes, Timbaland, Swizz Beats) and the grime producers use a lot of the samples in them but come up with something different.

Nice work on the Wiley article, Dan.

I don't really think there is a point of the inevitably ensuing "why isn't x on here" discussion because as you mentioned Wiley's back catalogue is too vast to be condensed into ten songs everyone will agree on.

You got 'Eskimo', you got 'Wot Do U Call It', you got 'Ice Rink', and you got 'Nightbus'. The rest is really up for grabs.

Wicked article, nice work! These Fact pieces are building up into a good resource eh.

Personally feel that overall emphasises him slightly more as an MC/auteur figure and not quite enough producer and crew leader/member for me.

Therefore would maybe have had Nicoles groove in for one of the later vocals (choice 9 or 10) to show the evolution from ukg.

And a roll deep or paug vocal such as know we, when i'm ere or bounce to show him in his role as member of an entourage. I would sub this in for one of the middle Tunnel Vision tracks (wonderful though they are).

Fire hydrant diss good choice! Something you can discuss endlessly of course as Sick Boy says.

So what's next for the Fact pieces? Top ten Grime radio sets? Top ten off-key/wonky grime tracks would be fun.

yep. but i think wiley prob needs a whole top ten just for his production.

this is very civilised abuse, thanks everyone :)

yeah a top ten for production would be tough in itself - and yeah i agree nicole's groove and/or know we would definitely flesh out that bit of his career.. in a way maybe it was unnecessary to have wd25, nightbus, *and* crash bandicoot, because they're all these epic lyrical torrents, and as such provide similar-ish insights into wiley's talent. but then i just couldn't cut any of them either!

You got 'Eskimo', you got 'Wot Do U Call It', you got 'Ice Rink', and you got 'Nightbus'. The rest is really up for grabs.

innit - what relatively-obscure picks would you lot have been tempted to make? like 'nan, i am london', for example. i really wanted to put 'class of 07' in but couldn't make room.

me personally, i would have these:
blizzard (THOSE synths, my god)
cuts n paces (remix)
firefly
icepole (new era)
two for (just for the dizzee/wiley story, and cos its one of the best things either has done)
avalanche
apocalypto
pingu
when im ere
poltergeist relay
wearing my rolex
flat derek
5.27am

mostly standard classics i know, but classics for a reason ;) too many to list really though.

the grime tapes wiley album is superb if you wanna hear wiley at his best as an mc i think...

If I was being deliberately obscurantist I'd have gone the instrumental to More Fire Crew's Lockdown, slept-on gem, but I don't if it ever got a proper release. Also, I can't help feeling a Wiley list just wouldn't be right without a devil mix in there somewhere.

xpost - yeah i actually like the devils mix of eskimo more than the normal one, if only cos ive heard it so much. apocalypto was on one of the tunnel vision cds at the end. i think theres good stuff on the 12s wiley was putting out there when he started to quieten down on the whites front, and even on the new one logans just put out. really like some of whats on there. better than the maniac one too. (while on that subject though, cant wait for some of the others like dvas and footsies).

burning you with more fire is also kinda underrated/undermentioned and a nice little way to talk about more fire/roll deep beef (i just prefer it to the endless lethal b dissess really, plus i love that first more fire album).

I have a modest 20 hours of pure Wiley on my itunes.

Though when i type in wiley and get everything with him in, featured in etc I get a more respectable 2 days 8 hours. :D what a ledge.

Do you lot own most of these wiley bits through mixtapes/albums? Or do you record white labels onto your PCs?

To not beat around the bush anymore - where can I DL the shit I can't buy (except for 30 quid on discogs)?
