lol, the mainstream media is a destitute landscape so Tucker has carved out a huge audience just by being sensible enough to point out the huge contradictions in the system.
But yeah it’s not “the reason,” but it points out something we should get: all those NGO efforts to teach Afghan women feminism wasn’t to show them the beauty of lib democracy or whatever, it was to turn them into pliant western consumers. It didn’t work and that’s why the ruling class eventually soured on the occupation.

Actually we need some Afghan women of all different wealth brackets/ urban/ rural/ ages plus Feminist & gender theorists on here to make this discussion rigorous or at least real.
Feminism and Gender Studies once learnt and lived cannot be forgot even if entirely a western oriented imposition in that all non-western genders and feminisms may be utterly different and intersectional.
