and this from a guide to ezra pounds selected cantos

the periplum. the prisoner recalls,in hundreds of details, the long journey through time, space, art and politics that has ended in the DTC. he calls it a periplum (properly, periplus) a voyage made without a neat Dantean map, in which one takes ones bearings from point to point, "as the wind veers"... The periplum, his own life, looks as if it might end soon, perhaps on the nearby gallows. he wonders too about the periplum of civilization....

periplum-voyage round a coastline. in the pisan cantos it is sometimes used for a voyage of the mind. here is refers to the journey of the sun "drawing the boats of his planets" like a great admiral.
Remember this from a previous canto, a record of the voyage of some colonialists round the coast of western Africa, where they end up stealing the natives' women

another says, and i don't know if this checks out yet

The canto moves almost imperceptibly through the early morning hours, as Venus and her stars give way to an "aureate sky" and finally to a light by which we can observe "the green world"

Though I was hoping to copy and paste the Ancient Greek from there but it's not replicated. in any case, OU TIS, No Man, the name Odysseus gives to the Cyclops to trick him.

precise definition also has cropped up before in relation to confucious

The men of old wanting to clarify and diffuse throughout the empire that light which comes from looking straight into the heart and then acting, first set up good government in their own states; wanting good government in their states, they first established order in their own families; wanting order in the home, they first disciplined themselves; desiring self-discipline, they rectified their own hearts; and wanting to rectify their hearts, they sought precise verbal definitions of their inarticulate thoughts [the tones given off by the heart]; wishing to attain precise verbal definitions, they set to extend their knowledge to the utmost. This completion of knowledge is rooted in sorting things into organic categories.
5.
When things had been classified in organic categories, knowledge moved toward fulfillment; given the extreme knowable points, the inarticulate thoughts were defined with precision [the sun's lance coming to rest on the precise spot verbally]. Having attained this precise verbal definition [aliter, this sincerity], they then stabilized their hearts, they disciplined themselves; having attained self-discipline, they set their own houses in order; having order in their own homes, they brought good government to their own states; and when their states were well governed, the empire was brought into equilibrium.

this is Manes who was tanned and stuffed

Bahram I, a follower of the intolerant Zoroastrian reformer Kartir, began to persecute the Manichaeans. He incarcerated Mani, who died in prison within a month, in 274.[24] According to sources, he passed his last days comforting his visiting disciples, teaching that his death would have no other consequence than the return of his soul to the realm of light.[5]

Mani's followers depicted Mani's death as a crucifixion in a conscious analogy to the crucifixion of Jesus; al-Biruni says that Bahram ordered the execution of Mani. There is a story which claims that he was flayed, and his corpse suspended over the main gate of the great city of Gundeshapur;[25] however, there is no historical basis for this account
Ok, so this also ties in with the stuff about the war against the Cathars in a previous canto, can't remember which.

Probably the only economic problem needing emergency solution in our time is the problem of distribution. There are enough goods, there is superabundant capacity to produce goods in superabundance. Why should anyone starve?

That is the crude and rhetorical question. It is as much our question as Hamlet’s melancholy was the problem of the renaissance dyspeptic.

And the answer is that nobody should. The ‘science’ or study of economics is intended to make sure no one does.

There is Enough

How are you going to get it from where it is, or can be, to where it is not and is needed?
