Um, if we're talking "golden age" cowboys, i.e. late-19th-C, I think the aircraft bit of this theory presents a more severe anachronism than the wristwatches bit.

I think someone might be leading you up the garden path with that story!

I heard that story when I was about eight - so that's more than likely. I'm completely aware that the story is probably false!

I think I rationalised it at the time by thinking that they were probably talking about the kind of cowboy who rode the range in a Ford V8.

I love classic Casios! Got this in walmart for $10, had the all gold one but gave it away and had a few black ones as a wee'un.

Heard the line "G-Shocks i got a crazy don collection" in Pass Out, is the g-shock grime's timepiece of choice these days? Rolexs look shit imo, i don't like watches too chunky.

I designed a watch in school with a rectangular face that had pillars instead of hands, 1-12 on the y axis and hours, minutes & second pillars along x, then these bastards stole my idea.. sort of

Ha I used to wear those old Casio's as a kid. Watches with divers bezel are not good. I didn't realise the thing about G-Shocks and Grime.

an ex of mine always wore her watch on her right wrist and finally admitted it's because Larry Mullen did in an old U2 poster she had (when quite young). Was only years later that she realised the poster was printed the wrong way round (some text gave it away) and he wore it on his left. Bless..

I've got a wicked gold Omega one that I inherited from my Grandad. It winds itself up when you wear it and everything. Problem is it's too valuable (both in terms of emotion and actual monetary value) for me to ever wear. In fact, I don't even know where it is now to be honest. It would be gallingly ironic if it turns out I've lost it anyway.
Something a bit like this anyway though I'd be surprised if it's worth as much as that. If it is I might flog it after all.

Yesterday in girlfriend's jewellery box found this watch I thought that the movers had lost when we transferred all our stuff to Portugal. Gave 'em a bollocking for that which I don't really regret cos they DID lose and break loads of other stuff and when we told them they basically just told us to fuck off. Anyway, I like this kinda retro space-age thing and if I can get a new battery for it I will be wearing it all the time from now on.

I've actually got a little collection of LED space style watches, bit of a sucker for that style for some reason ... the others are all cheapies though.

My uncle gave me the most beautiful simple longines watch over lockdown. Something I would never splash out on myself. Very proud of it
