Worst songs you've ever heard?

A power ballad can have enough kitschy fun to it to be enjoyable. I feel these songs fall into a subtly different category

Slothrop

Tight but Polite

This is worse than Imagine, because at least when Imagine starts you know it'll be over again in three minutes or so, whereas with American Pie you're in for upwards of EIGHT AND A HALF FUCKING MINUTES of self-important circumlocution and tedious genuflection before the authorized rock n roll canon. Apparently Don McLean has said that the lyrics are "beyond analysis. They're poetry." No they aren't, they're a load of clunking riddle-me-this shite you absolute fucking weapon.

Always hated Seals voice anyway but that song is the pits. This is just a line you don't cross as far as I'm concerned.

that's some mandela effect shit. american pie is an eight minute progressive suite? i was going to say it's a good song but that's a bit much. i thought it was like 1/4 that length.

anyways

There’s been a run of really depressing and empty fake hedonistic pop music through the 2010s...Jessie j it’s my party, that I dont care charli xcx one, party and party and ooh, that black eyed peas one. It’s the most soulless music that’s ever been made. Focus grouped music from nowhere about nothing for everyone, deeply unsettling

Also agree about the Mandela effect I've never heard American Pie in that form ever. Not in my universe.

I can imagine 15 year old Barty making a tune like the one mvuent just posted

when i was in my early teens did a thing of getting the feedback going on guitar and then playing a darbuka into the guitar pick up so that it was almost like auto-tuned drums.

also did the same thing where i'd found a toy piano on the street and then rest the electric guitar on it so that i was again, playing this weird tinkling toy piano through the guitar pick up.
