has anyone watched those history of programming lectures, bret victor, hes a good egg it seems, hes trying new stuff. he basically talks about how in the early days of computing, a few different threads of development were happening, and we picked what we've got now cos of the same old reasons, lobbying power from the bigger companies primarily (eg intel chips were the base for all hardware, therefore their method of doing motherboards governed everything). he talks about how people came up with the more visual ways of showing the elements on a page of HTML, for example, but we've ended up with this awful text file version of things.

its like back to the future 2, we're in a reality that's a thread, we need to go and pick up one of the old dead threads, take it somewhere else. like bringing back the right wing milfs thread, you could say

The best thing we can all hope for, to get a proper factory reset that so many of us are crying out for, is for the internet to break for 6 months

there's definitely a lot of us hoping for a reset of the world economy. it's why on the left we don't like to think too much about the economic repercussions of the lockdowns. we are hoping that the Archons will say, this is fucked beyond belief, we can't work out how to fix it, let's just cancel all money and all debt.

Iboga's like the end of level boss of psychs. There's a clinic in Mexico where they focus on beating addictions, especially alcohol and opiates, and they give you some DMT at the end of the iboga sessions just to take the edge off :alien:

In the rough trade zine about the fat white family, there's a bit with Saul talking about doing an iboga trip in New Mexico to try to kick smack. He does it, then leaves, the other guys on the course offer him a lift cos its the desert, he says within 30 mins they've scored more smack

He means the "likes".

They do work, don't they? I mean, for personal satisfaction. When I get one or two I feel acknowledged, respected, revered, a GOD.

When I don't, I feel like nowhere man, making all my nowhere posts for nobody.

It's really a tremendously powerful part of our wiring.

The amount of time I have wasted on Call of Duty just 'grinding' for a golden gun. The golden gun looks cool but it's the same gun.

Little dopamine rewards.
