Maybe this is all because we are losing sight of a common purpose. We have nothing to talk about so we start talking about how we talk.

we never had a common purpose as far as i can remember. theres something about the present social media driven climate which is making co-existence impossible, driving tensions to fever point and oppositions to all out war

I honestly don't recognize this effect. I don't think the mood in here right now is even remotely redolent of Twitter oneupsmanship and posturing and antagonism. Maybe I'm just blind to it, I don't know.

I was going to say that Barty is a real loss, certainly not the malign influence its being suggested he is and it would be great to have him back. That everyone should just calm down a bit, take a step back as all of this stuff is eminently avoidable with just a bit of personal restraint, and that its also been great to have Luka back and that people should be commended for keeping their worse instincts in check...
