Are your zines primarily lit. based? little essays and accompanying drawings?

bit of a mix. first three were a page each of comics/text/drawings from me and my friends. they were A5, A4, A3. These were called 'turntup'. Then i did one called 'notes from the path' which was a record of a walk, maps, short bits of text, drawings.. Then i did one called smog which is 20,000 words, no drawings. then latest is called 'prisoner of genet' and is excerpts from prisoner of love by genet, with a couple drawings.

And this is what he said when I asked what pushed him away from D&G,
The politics pushed me away from it. Beneath the textual performances the actual political commitments were simply mundane when they weren't sinister. Worse, in a way: the political commentary, when it poked through (for example, Virilio's Desert Screen), was very often banal and superficial.

Books that provided something of an inoculation for me were Appropriating Shakespeare by Brian Vickers, Against Deconstruction by John Martin Ellis and From Revolution to Ethics: May 1968 and Contemporary French Thought by Julian Bourg. There are other things like this by Roger Scruton (from a conservative perspective) and Richard Wolin (from a liberal humanist perspective) but I didn't rate those so much.

You should blog some of this stuff, or at least run a blog in tandem. Dissensus blogs!

yeah i could do, that's true. maybe i will. one of the reasons i started making zines was to do something which didnt involve computer so much cos i'm on it all the time anyway. so if i start blogging, i'll have to give dissensus the chop

idea for a dissensus zine:

'the last posts'

it would be a compilation of all the last posts of various dissensus members, famous and not so famous
off the top of my head:

ben UFO
logos
Logan Sama
Elijah
Mos Dan
Zhao
K-Punk
Woebot
kode 9
