I should say I never dared footwork myself but I applauded the slick haired young lads who did, even though they were quite rubbish, cos I think it's nice to have a go at things

Also I think Dean blunt is not far off 40, but possibly a bit younger, maybe 35, but certainly no younger than that, I would say

What song by hype williams was where dean blunt crawled through a window with a weird grin. There were a few other weird videos on YouTube around that time with them it was the first hype williams I heard and know idea how to find it, I think it was pretty early on in their career.

Untitled 3 off the Carnivals LP with the weed leaves on the front. It's at the start of the Hundebiss VHS.

"Dean Blunt is the most important British artist of the current century because he fundamentally does not care about Britain,"

hey @version , any idea what's up with Low Company?. For the past month or two, their home page has had "mid-pandemic sale 50% off" items, you can no longer sort their stock by all the different genres, and I haven't received a weekly email in awhile.

I have a bad feeling. would be a sad loss but understandable, how long can brick and mortar record stores hang on in these conditions?

Nah, sorry. I know Blackest Ever Black wound down and Kiran had a kid, but I dunno whether that's had an impact on the shop.

I do still really like him, it's just difficult cos he's not made anything new that's resonated with me for a while. I'm a different person to who I was 6 years ago, when he was at his peak.

I got the book about him, and it's OK, but I don't really agree with what the guy says about him, and the connections he draws with ar kane and beefy from babylon.

I’m on a train listening to that Hype Williams mix for FACT where most of the tracks are Steely Dan. It’s pretty mad.

Is it the one with a sizzla tune? Funny thing about that mix is that almost all the tracks on it are the first song off the album, like he just grabbed a load of cds and made a mix from the first song on each cd.

Yeah and Buju iirc. I hadn't twigged it was all first tracks, it is quite an odd mix!

I just read the book also and enjoyed it, but then I would really - I know the guy and am up for discussions about Babylon, Gilroy etc.
