meltdown.
The story goes like this: Corpsey is tagged in multiple threads by luka as renaissance rationalitization and oceanic navigation lock into commoditization take-off. Logistically accelerating techno-economic interactivity crumbles social order in auto-sophisticating machine runaway. As markets learn to manufacture intelligence, politics modernizes, upgrades paranoia, and tries to get a grip.

Anyone have any stats on the aerosols/GG's released by this explosion? Not that I'd expect it to be considerable in the wide scheme of things, but just for a frame of reference.

over 200 psi at earth entry apparently. by other measures, 12 centigrade. take that as you will and bear in mind the humidity at ignition point.

Had to look up centigrade, which is a cool measurement, but I'm not sure what to do with it. Granted I didn't look very long for an answer to this question, nothing I saw came even remotely close to addressing it.

Do you think this had a "methane crater" level effect? Those guys belch obscene amounts of methane, apparently. Given there are dozens of greenhouse gases, the chemical reactions involved in this explosion could, as far as I know, involve some. Then again, it's pretty liberal speculation.

About 800 times as much of the stuff is used in explosives every year in North America alone, apparently. So globally speaking it's not a major pollution event. I guess if you live in or near Beirut it might be a different matter.
