like when Adorno said poetry was dead after Auschwitz, you shouldn't literally read it as one must never ever write poetry ever again.

So listening through I do enjoy some of his stuff in the way it represents a very controlled and mechanised, synthetic emotionality. it's the music of facebook notification dopamine hits, it's digital screen music, its focused and its trapped and a bit defeatist? everyone is wrong on this thread, why patty hates it is why its good, why luka hates it is why its interesting and truthful

I don't fully believe what I said up there. earlier I was reducing him to art trance. Someone who's allowing a hip self conscious audience the enjoyment of the basic sentimentality, the immediacy of trance by giving it some abstract textures and conceptual finesse, but he;s doing a bit more than that isn't he

I do try to push against the dissensus knee-jerk

can imagine you going to a few parties when you were younger. Having a socialising phase. almost starting to believe you could join the fringes of the in crowd. That's where the rot must have crept in.

this isn't revolting because it's emotionally fatuous and juvenile, that would be amazing. it's revolting because it's cute. I hate cuteness in 2020! it's like people who still believe we can still fall in love. barty's music is far more futuristic than this with its burnt out benzo delirium.

No he’s not. People fall in love me all the time!

I don't think they do. I don't think this is something you can do past the age of 15 any more. I've seen infatuation of course. but I've never seen any one fall in love and I've never met any one that has ever said I'm in love. Not in the way that used to be meant. It's not feasible.
