Ok, as a Dad, if you raise children the whole idea of values is loaded with common sense. Traditional values though? What the fuck does that mean beyond conservative ghosts? As a species we hunted wild animals,and foraged for about 98% of our lifeline. Not sustainable.
@suspended are you a father, because if not why include the Dad part when you haven’t defined trad? Is this the difference between city and country you find yourself in because, from memory, there aren’t too many farms in Brooklyn.
Pithy quotes aren’t a real part of parenting either. Sustainable resourcing is a different subject entirely too.

I think trads would say that some of the values we've left behind include self-reliance, self-discipline (vs. hedonism), proper valuation of beauty in public spaces/design/the built environment.
I am not a father, and nor do I live in Brooklyn anymore. Probably among cityfolk, pastoralism is a big part of this! Wanting the country. Wanting a small community, where you can be known, recognized, belong.

the "trad, dad" part was just a reference to the old (British!) television show, It's Trad, Dad!, and also the kinda nice irony that often its young folks, raised to liberal urban parents, who are so desiring a return to olden days (olden days their fathers specifically rebelled against, e.g. in the 69 Revolution)

If you wanna defend these cultures of oblation, the usual approach is an appeal to "excellence," master vs. slave morality. Which is exactly what Ms Wintour/Priestly does, repeatedly. Ditto with Marky Mark's whole "you're not a real cop" routine in The Departed.
And what's the logic of excellence? Excellence is excess—this is the corollary to the 80/20 rule of good enough. All else equal, spreading the energy between games and frontiers of personal ambition, the Pareto-optimal lifeplan(™) loses to bull-headed single-mindedness each and every time.
