Is anyone going to watch the superbowl?

woops

is not like other people
Well obviously we think that cos we got football but there's little point in just saying "US sports are shit and need loads of cheerleaders and adverts and a half-time performance from a superstar to trick people into watching them".
not much point stating the obvious you're right

hilarious to read the half-time acts throughout history. started out with just college marching bands, then expanded in to 1970s with Ella Fitzgerald, Carol Channing (!), Lionel Hampton. 1979: "various Caribbean bands, including Grammacks out of Dominica". LOL, can you imagine that happening today?

it appears the big show dam broke in 1991 with New Kids on the Block, which lead to Gloria Estefan, MJ, etc.

2001: Performers: Aerosmith, NSYNC, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige, Nelly

All the sports are English. Except that paddleball one Rich plays with his Euro-friends.

This year's show's going to be the ritual humiliation, torture and execution of Donald J. Trump.

Still never played it sadly. So many promises... I was supposed to play squash a minute ago but got in the car and the battery was flat so had to cancel. A shame seeing as we go into total lockdown again at midnight, that was gonna be my last game for a long time. Felt kinda sad crawling back home, I almost got back into bed and cried.

I really want to go to the darts:

- great tunes
- fun costumes
- day drinking binges
- really easy to follow
- potential to be caught on camera with a novelty sign

I love watching it on TV too. I have a theory that they get work experience folk to operate the camera because any time they have to zoom in on the board somewhere that isn't triple-20 the shots are all over the place.

It looks like a really fun game. Then again squash is a very fun game too. But also with a gladitorial, one v one kinda vibe to it. You should try it.
