That boomerang scene was very important in mad Max 2. Starting to think a lot of these movies relied on a few extreme scenes that people would talk about. Like having nudity/ sex scenes. It's not so important now people in school can watch real life beheadings and porn at the click of a button.
I was a small-ish kid whan thriller and billie jean came out = i learnt them and about them from other kids. they were released with these amazing videos and there had been nothing like them before - kids acted out the moves because there was no way to actually watch the video on tv or anywhere. i don't think i even knew mj was black, but his whole teen horror image was clearly inappropriate for little lads like me and woebot and so was irresistable.
i wonder if that effect is wearing off now that everyone has access to everything in animated gif format

It’s not simply tits that are an American 80s movie staple, it’s the scene in the strip club: dark lights, long legs and pink thongs; our heroes always slightly out of place and at some point somebody has to uncomfortably place some money in the panties, etc. Beverly Hills Cop and Dragnet the archetypes here.

But that's a different thing. You have the stripclub scene which has filtered into all kinds of gangster films and so on.... and you have the Arnie punching someone through a wall into a bedroom where a big-knockered woman is hilariously having sex.

i stole this stripclub scene from a movie from youtube once and inverted the colours and slowed down the tempo and put my music under it and now i can't remember anymore from which movie it is but it is the best stripclub scene there is. does anyone know which movie?

There’s also the Griswalds. Nips and tits across National Lampoons.

You couldn’t do that now. I googled Beverly D’Angelo + shower and it led to xhamste (honest to god, my loving wife).

Weird film. Maybe it's cos I've just done Ferris and Breakfast Club but it definitely felt like a kind of critique of those Hughes Social Darwinism High School films. Slater is horrible to look at. Like an old man in a child's body.

Got some funny lines in it though. Plus a load of lines that aren't as funny as they think they are.

Not sure. I've already watched 85% of the total Hollywood output for the eighties. Running out of options. Still got some Eddie Murphys I haven't seen. Wall Street of course.... Some other big landmarks.
