Did anyone other than the nerds pick up on footwork in the UK? The only people I ever saw talking about it were Kode9 and the Resident Advisor-types.

the midwest is kind of an exemplar of the 'extension' thing of the u.s., it's the long middle stretch in multiple senses

having said that i saw a video of Brooklyn today and the 'bodegas' sell plastic cups full of ice for you to buy your brandy and mixer and pour it straight into the cup. this really impressed me hugely. we dont have that here becasue street corner drinking has not been normalised to the same extent

the u.k. doing this to marginal american music feels like a more or less generaliseable rule
