Blockchain is bigger than cryptocurrency, the latter is a component of, yet manages to outshine, the former.

Incredibly easy to wash money with crypto, in a way that is only preventable by the panopticon, i.e. central bank cryptocurrency, a permissioned blockchain, with all other permissionless blockchains banned. That is an unlikely scenario in my opinion, so we will have to find other ways to address money washing.

Anyone can make their own blockchain with its own native currency, for whatever purposes they have in mind. To generalize illicit motivation to all actors in this space strikes me as silly, just as silly as denying that anyone meant to use crypto for laundering, etc.

Monero might be an exception in this case, but most of the big blockchains have every transaction immutably recorded and publicly available, which would not be the case if the creators of these blockchains were building them for the expressed purpose of laundering.

Everyone can see when hundreds of millions of dollars worth of ETH has been sent by anyone, and many of these "whale alerts" are published and discussed on r/cryptocurrency and the likes thereof.

Ostensibly the point of Bitcoin was to make a peer to peer currency that no one party could control, but I couldn't cite Nakamoto here as I haven't yet read the whitepaper or their emails building up to it.

OnlyFans and Pornhubs issues with their payment processors started when there were reports of exploitative content right? Seems ridiculous that payment processors are the enforcers of stuff like this but I don't think governments are particularly up to the task.

Reminds me of how legal weed businesses in, say, Colorado have problems with all their cash cos national banks can't touch it due to the illegality of drug money in some states.

Floor is now 0.54 ETH/£1500+ but it has been close to 1.0 in the past 12 hours.

For some reason, this NFT was eligible for an airdrop of 10,000 of $BLGD, whatever that is. Anyway, they alone are worth $0.11 - $0.20 each today.

Ridiculous free money, just for idly checking Twitter before bed last night. Magic is happening. Eyes open, lads.
