Blockchain/crypto as an industry is also poised to have a major influence on D.C.

Sen. Warner said he has never known an industry to be as organized as Crypto. My suspicion here is that the current incumbents are pouring capital into lobbying at the roots of the next regime, but I am also a believer in blockchain as a technology that can realize the value of decentralized power.

It's trite, but the thing I keep coming back to is scale. You look at stuff like climate change, corruption and so on and you run into it again and again. There's too much of everything and it's all too big and happening too often.

Yeah and congresspeople in the US, at least in the impression they make in public hearings, don’t seem to embody the same global-scaled vision that private multinational corporations do. Even blockchain startups are gearing up for global operations.

And here I have hope for young and insightful people, yes like Frances here, to rise to the occasions and address the stuff that is either too confounding or even unapparent to incumbent policy makers.

My faith in my extropic vision (modular dogmae of science) will not yield so readily to the prevalent disillusionment of the day, however warranted such disillusionment may be.

I would like to look into these Pandora Papers more, though, to maybe walk away with an enhanced appreciation of bureaucratic corruption.

I get a bad feeling from her. She feels like an avatar of the status quo.

Tough because feelings are just as malleable as facts, just in different ways. Personally I’d rather rely on my own cognitive ability, in conjunction with what feels right.

She sounds like every liberal journalist on Twitter and writing for publications like Slate and Salon who sees nothing wrong with the state crushing anyone resisting vaccination and assumes they're forever on "the right side of history".
Yeah I can see a certain blind spot there, from her testimony. Didn’t hear her arguing much of substance on the side of privacy and minimal governmental presence.

Also worth noting is that I haven’t had a social media presence associated with my legal identity since the first year of high school, ~ten years ago, and can describe from firsthand experience the profound degree of alienation that comes with opting out of these systems, as someone of my generation.

Only I think alienation can yield positive results, I.e breaking out of conditioned patterns of insecurity and toxicity.

I feel these things, but at a more comfortable distance, operating under abstract buffer personae such as Clinamenic.

I was literally the only one I knew in my four years of college that went without a social media presence. It became a distinct characteristic of mine, not using a smartphone and not using social media.
