I tried I wasn't a fan. In my teens I probably would've found her delivery a little exotic and sexy but all my fantasies about England have been smashed by this board, it's just grating and cloying and crass

i think that you are technically correct, on the other hand, those are the reasons it is good.

the reasons it is authentically english is that it is grating and cloying and crass and you can only love it by truly and deeply loving england

Poetix, another free born English male, also loves this song to an irrational degree. Craner is conflicted, his blood is English, more English than mine, much more, but he was born in Wales, a land of magic and suggestive mists

@boxedjoy you are not a free born English male but you have expressed pro-Adele sentiments. i would love to know what you make of the new one

hello is an incredible tune. turbo-charged romantic regret and catharsis for the miserable repressed english psyche. the lyrics make the shitty music and foghorn vocals worth enduring.

@luka what do you think of her accent at the start of the video? she's started having some posh inflections, like she knows how to talk to waiters at the wine bar

Lovely song, that opening line "There aint no gold in this river.. " sounds classic.
On first listen I'd compare her to K Michelle, shades of country mixed in with the classic soul style

Couldn't agree more. I can understand why people really hate the voice but I don't hate it. I think they are wrong. Adele is the soul of England, Taylor Swift is the true soul of the United States. And I know who I prefer.
