Medicalisation

Medicalisation and pc culture are real, medicalisation and market exploitations are real, but imagine a world without medicine

we used to execute midwives and it seems similar superstitions are at play when we approach new iterations of such subjects

I tend to switch off when people start throwing the term around, even if they're referring to someone who actually is evil, e.g. Epstein. It just feels lazy and sensational.

Re midwives, that was a social thing, it was done by a woman in the community, who knew how to do it. Then they medicalised it and took it off the local woman and its now done by those in white coats.

I don't think its completely sincere so I don't have a problem with it.

I dont know exactly what satanism is, when you use it as not a litteral religous device. I think its something to do with the arbitrary and reactionary

Male gynaecologists creep me out.

I think we can generalize satanism to any ideology that is a sort of contrarian inversion of an established orthodoxy, deriving substance from the ultimate taboo of the orthodoxy.

If we take secular liberalism as an orthodoxy, which isn't to say it is the only ideology exerting top-down influence, then a sort of mystical nazism may be the taboo inversion of this.

In a puritanical paradigm, the inversion of the orthodoxy was literally satanism, it would seem. Whatever the orthodoxy most adamantly denounces, the negorthodoxy praises.

But when there are multiple ideologies competing in terms of top-down influence, its difficult to identify the taboos. Whereas in a small pilgrim town, things would seem to be much clearer.

So given the Dissensus orthodoxy, I am somewhat negorthodox insofar as I am a capitalist on a largely anti-capitalist forum, only I'm not a capitalist by virtue of it being anathema on Dissensus.

do you have healthcare coverage if I could ask?
Yes, the local laws were such that once I was 23, I could no longer be on a family plan, so I started on my own, then the law changed so that I could be on my dad's work-granted family plan until I am 26, so I switched back.

The plan I was briefly, independently on was state-subsidized to some extent, very affordable. Don't remember the details though.
