pass the sick bucket
otherwise I agree with you, a lot of memecore music does give off a noncey vibe, sorry padraig, but I'm not going to deny that stuff like Danny L harle makes me feel icky.

im just saying you are Luke Erasmus Davis, not Liam Gallagher.

Oh the operative word in that post is really "can", as in it's not simply an aesthetic dead-end or retread of 90s cyberculture
That is fair

Skimmed all the tracks you posted, not really my thing but the last one does get back a bit toward rudeness (as in uncouth, not JA rudeboy) and vitality

I'd still rather hyperpop, it misses more often than it hits but when it hits it - like ardkore - fucking explodes, whereas as most of this just kinda warbles along inoffensively, like elevator music

Ofc for other ppl ymmv + fair enough

edit: I do agree it works considerably better in the mix

It definitely comes alive in the mix, a lot of it's still in that techno-derived parsimony with its ideas, rather than the kitchen-sink exuberance of hardcore (and hyperpop I guess, unfortunately hyperpop's ideas are mostly shit).

The last I'm gonna say on the nonce thing is there's a difference between noting the pedophilic overtones etc of memecore (or whatever it's called) - sure, - vs calling telling a brand new person "you're a nonce, piss off to a nonce forum with that". Of course that got a hostile reaction, how could it not. That is all.

i dont have a problem with the hostile reaction or if they never come back particularly. all of that is fine. i just didnt like the crybaby thing as i mentioned.

Yeah that's a good distinction

And sure most hyperpop ideas are bad, but most ideas in most art are bad

The miracle of hardcore, or 80s Chicago house, or etc magical time + place, is the comparatively very high killer to filler rate. Most things are digging thru endless drudgery to find the occasional gem.

Everything as DJ tools but no DJ makes sense, a seamless transition to algorithmic and/or corporate (Spotify etc) curation. A sound from nowhere by no one.

Anyone have a good torrenting site for jungle stuff, it will just never stick if I have to bookmark YouTube video, it's gotta be in a local music player or I'll forget about it

never ever listen to any retrospective mix. only listen to radio sets and recordings from club nights and raves.
