I remember that. I think it was a tag team. Gus made some obvious point about how all language is metaphorical and then went on some rant about the #MeToo movement

When the term “seen” filtered out, that shit was more infectious than Delta

First heard at a pool table aeons ago. One individual couldn’t stop saying it, a ball popped in or a foul called = “seen”, which deviated into scene, soon, same, etc within a few years. Didn’t have the longevity of safe

Currency, language as legal tender, never ending

kind of the opposite of what were talking about in here, but maybe not-

Ive noticed its getting increasingly harder to google definitions as theres some product, company, media association using said word that takes priority for search engines
Yeah the perspective I'm coming around to is that we have to model search results as an adversarial game between consumers and suppliers of results.

I find this sort of thing insidious. I was just reading an RA article about Spotify streaming sets and mixes and the countries the service was live in were referred to as "markets" instead,

The service is currently available in eight markets: the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand.

the first bit is true i think yes. the german language is overcomplicated in an unnecessary way, i think it's much more easier to make things sound rhythmic in english. as for the last bit, i'm not sure, it's not how i experience the city, maybe the tik tok teens think it's cool to speak english? the rest of the population doesn't though, they hardly can.

nah most people can speak english. it's just that most aren't really comfortable about it let alone think it's cool.
