Some funny pictures so they can have a laugh? Yeah that's pretty fucked Kent, thanks for telling me.

I mean all this stuff requires a lot of computing power, Google provides the colab platform for the other ones we've been using (I'm still paying £8 per month for that).

One for the dilemmas thread.

glad to hear it!

even the open source models have got in on the act with the censorship - I've had "could be harmful" warnings when using lines from J.H. Prynne poems as a prompt, but at least with the open source code you can find the "ethics" variable and change it
This paternalism is especially obnoxious coming from the socially incompetent, culturally ignorant, spotty teenager IT crowd rather than a venerable ethical expert who's seen it all like Mary Whitehouse

Could you give it the first few lines of "the second coming" and see what it does
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

I didn't have much luck with Majesty Diffusion either, but at least it doesn't complain about "blood"

Dall e is no visionary
it can't appreciate yeats anyway

how dangerous is it to allow these creatures to work on treasures like tthat? their crass surface interpretations will supplant our own organical ones? prevent us from coming up with our own visions?

tbh i just surprised a frog flopping about in our polytunnel in the dusky twilight allotment and it feels like it was probably planted there by one of these medusae

some queries seem to generate lots of text in the images = non-words on labels and in speech bubbles,
clearly spelt out
like so

so you could say it's attempting it's own poetry

and then you can enter those terms to see what the brain machine is talking to itself about in its own secret made up language - which is usually frolicking reptllian insectoids

What's different about Dall e compared to those vqgan plus clip ones is that Dall e has this sort of compositional coherence where vqgan is like messed up genres in one picture.

Some people say this about very young kids, they can't draw that well, but the arrange t of things is really good, cos they don't discriminate between a face and a flower in the background.

as someone (@poetix) was saying, kids don't tend to pass the turing test
