The thing is we do have a few dickheads here and we have to deal with them. It's ok as it is just about but I would say that our dickhead quotient is pretty much full, if a couple of the dickheads were to stop posting then we would have some vacancies for a few more dickheads, but at the moment that doesn't look like happening so really we have no choice other to bully the fuck out of any dickheads that appear here until they start crying and leave.
Well, obviously I won't do that, I really don't like to get my hands dirty with that sort of job, I'll just sort of hang about in the other threads and pretend I don't know it's happening while Luka puts them out of their misery. Then when I'm quite sure it's over I'll pop up in the thread in question and say something like "Oh my goodness, what happened here? I've just read back through it all and I have to say that I think you were a bit out of order there Luka, you just waded into them and they hadn't even done anything wrong. It's a shame that I missed that cos I would have definitely done the right thing and stuck up for them. But sadly I wasn't here and now they've been bullied right off the board - what a terrible pity... what a sad sad waste".
Well, I probably wouldn't go quite that far, that's ridiculous, you would all see right through it, and I wouldn't even be able to lie to myself. So in actuality I would try to make it a bit more realistic so that I can pretend to myself that I haven't done anything wrong and I'm still basically a good guy. And also we don't have any extra dickheads on the board so it's totally the best possible result.

i only posted on reddit about three times, and once it was a great joke that got 1,500 upvotes
it's a good window into america i think, coz that's mostly who posts on there
and a good window into a kind of normie psycho-dom. the financial boards are quite eye-opening sometimes.
there is also a tendency for people to discuss and take quite strong positions on things that they would be embarrassed to talk about in real life. it genuinely can be quite consciousness-altering in that respect. whole discourses and dialogues.
the travel boards are really sad. even the budget travel boards. thousands of people missing the point, and encouraging others to do the same. i think i've said it before, i think the old backpacker-land is over, gone, dead. like any scene will experience at some point.
also fascinating that there is nothing like an equivalent in french. i looked quite hard once. the francophone world hasn't produced message boards in anything like the same way and the anglophone world.
