@woops comments in another thread, but good call!

from the days when I used hang about with a "free party sound system" i can remember standing in front of the speakers when this dropped and the waves of warmth were incredible... bass that soothes, invigorates, and made me move in ways that were probably amusing to those younger
than me...

Skream - Midnight Request Line

I'd forgotten about the VIP.

I used to have "bare files" but crappy CDRs & DVD-R suffer from time, shitty ink flakes off leaving you with useless plastic discs that end up being thrown up in the bin.... one of the reasons I only buy vinyl nowadays....

lost so many rinse fm broadcasts due to that shit

not that i think we should stop playing this great game of course. here's my entry

horrible churning sound that squats in one place rumbling away even as the filter opens to send you hurtling and lurching into the next wide open space section of the chooooon and basically what dubstep could and should of been

There were a few of those grime things that felt like they could be either.

Skream - Midnight Request Line - Skepta & Plasticman* Rinse FM

when dubstep met Grime, seminal x-over

* plasticman Or plastikman , memory evades me, didn't he have to change his name 'cos of some Richie Hawtin lawyer business?

alzheimers, parkinsons bidness

didn't Wiley chat shit over Midnight Request Line?

or am I senile old geezer?

Since those stomach churning early grime/dubstep bass lines have been mentioned, got to mention narrows.

Roots of grime, dubstep and bassline all in there. Inspired by Slimzee et al slowing down drum and bass records to garage speed in late 90s maybe?

Urgh some seriously horrible sounding stuff in that Narrows mix later on. Historically important still I suppose but not something you'd actually want to listen to.
