    The Man Cave Continuum

I wonder if psychogeography has a place in this (excellent) thread, on the grounds that a lot of the time it’s just a hipper name for local history. See also: Cope’s Modern Antiquarian, the Weird Walk zine, which have the added benefit of providing opportunities to buy fancy technical boots and...

Journalism - post articles/blogs, etc., here

Earthly Powers and Dead Man in Deptford are both excellent novels. I remember the Malay Trilogy being good too. A great talent with a tendency towards silliness, some of his novels are complete bollocks. In fairness to Burgess ALL* of Meades’s novels are complete bollocks. *both?

Film - breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

I have always wondered if the following is true ‘The name Stone Island derives from two of the most widely used English words in the novels of the romantic writer JosephConrad, one of the founders of that pre-modernist movement. Conrad's stories are often inner journeys of men who go to look...

    Intoxication log

No, the devil had neglected to leave any, and it turns out it’s sufficiently hellish when played normally

    Intoxication log

I may as well add while I’m here that many years ago I took LSD and broke my friend’s turntable trying to play American Pie backwards in case there were secret messages therein.

    Intoxication log

My grandfather also used to drink it for this reason; it allowed him to escape ‘feminine censure’ from my grandmother. He was too old to have got the idea from The Human Factor so I guess it was a general ‘thing’ among posh old blokes.
