Mild coincidence I was looking up some helen vendler lectures the other day and turns out she died the other day

Found this googling rob playford, didn't know where to stick it
Probably belongs more in the music forum but i didn't want to create a new thread

I think I MIGHT have heard this in 1994 on a smash hits compilation but I only really became aware of and obsessed with "Jilted Generation" circa 1997.
"Gin and Juice" is an example of a tune that was a single in 1994 but actually came out in 1993 on "Doggystyle". So you could say it was a 93 or 94 tune.
I intended to avoid the most obvious smashes at first so I didn't post that much jungle or hip hop
You've also got "Juicy", all the "Illmatic" stuff, "DWYCK", "Supa Star"...
Any thoughts on "vire"?
Saint Lo was a site of wartime conflagration/destruction so I suppose the poem is about the future people who will forget all the violence one day
Could it even be an optimistic poem? I'd be disappointed in that coming from old misery guts
