It's got the energy of the early stuff, but it's definitely a record made by adults, in a good way. I guess a lot of people will mourn the loss of the merry prankster and goodly-elf character Coyne has projected the last decade or so, but I've never been so happy to see someone shed grinning...
Hey Dissensians--been a while. But I've got an album that's very likely going to create a strong dissensus--but which has absolutely shocked me by being laser-guided-missile brilliant, to my tastes.
The Flaming Lips, acid-washed weirdos from the definitive hinterland who had a string of...
Oh--that's just because I missed it. But I'm going to download today, once I get home. : )
Shame about that 'R' fellow in the comments of your "gripes" thread--hard to figure someone like that who's clearly pretty proud of their hardline stance, but still feels the need to pretend he's taken...
I'm really proud of this one, love if those of you who can go in for the Droid-ish soundscape stuff and/or just weird dark music in general were to check it out:

Zhao--posted at the blog, but gotta say it twice (besides propping it in other locales)--this is just. . . I don't know what else to say but that this is exactly what I want to hear right now, in the sense that--this is not something I'm remotely familiar with, but something that would exist in...
A few mixes have been posted since that last one, but yesterday I put up one that might be of interest (if only nostalgic) for Dissensians: a "four LP," 53 track "box set" of late disco, electro-disco, and bits of the four-to-the-floor edge of post-punk. It's my first attempt at beatmatching...
Not at all, Zhao. I linked to what I like, no reciprocation expected (or I would've bugged you about it by now : )
New (old) one up, very Blogariddims/Droid-esque:
Nice linocuts or woodcuts or whatever they are. . .
But I think he stole the idea from an album I made whilst living in Oxford, comprised of sounds recorded around town.
; )
I'm missing how to actually purchase these things. . .
For anyone who liked the sounds of the 'Le Tour du Monde' stuff, and/or the brevity of the 'Miniatures: Post-Punk' mixes:
A few more where this one came from, coming soon. . .
The album of canons or rounds from which that track comes wears out its welcome if listened to in one sitting (if I recall, it has something like 20 tracks) but in bursts of a few songs, it's incredibly charming and rather unique and timeless in terms of production execution. I already loved...
Glad you like it, BareBones. Thanks!
New one up today:
The title is a bit of a joke, but it's actually a strong comp from a couple years back, a bunch of real faves here.
