Also I think Eric Bellinger is underrated... he releases a lot of stuff and it's hit and miss but there's always some low key bangers on his albums. 'House Party' was the one for me a couple of years ago but this is probably the most Eric Bellinger Eric Bellinger tune yet
couldn't see that anyone has posted this yet but I am in love with the noname album this year... love her voice and the whole thing is really uplifting and soulful. it's a great palate cleanser if you've been listening to loads of club rap etc.
if you liked chance's album you might be into it...
Lol that's a kind response, thanks. Most likely a moot point anyway as I doubt any of my mates will ever want to go to one of these things, they're too busy going to boring techno or fact mag-approved house nights or just staying indoors in a weed fug... This whole thread makes me feel...
Been trying to figure out how to word this without sounding like a boring 30something twat, but am I too old (31) to go to one of these raves? I've been ignoring all this music for some reason but that jay power set is really doing it for me.
Just finished. Definitely gonna have to re-read all this, I think. I'm browsing through the wolfewiki and posts on urth.net and there seems to be a ridiculous amount i've missed. Yeuch
Excellent! Can't think of any specific questions right now, I've got about 50 pages left though. It's more just the way Severian often says shit like "at that moment I understood ..." and you're left to infer what he means, which is kinda difficult a lot of the time
I am just finishing the "Book of the New Sun" series by Gene Wolfe - as i'm sure you already know, it's a fantastic/preposterous science-fantasy epic set on a post-apocalyptic Earth ("Urth") a million years in the future, when the sun is dying and the world is back in a kind of dark age after...
But it won the nobel prize and everything! Oh well. I've just finished her preface to the book which was good I thought, I'm gonna wade into this thing and see how it goes - hoist it up the flagpole and see if it flies, etc
I do like the way Neil Hamburger trolls brands like Pepsi on twitter though:
Neil Hamburger @NeilHamburger
A massive dumpsite of case after case of unsalable PepsiNEXT. @PepsiNEXT: What’s the most unbelievable collection you’ve ever seen?
Neil Hamburger @NeilHamburger
Great way to clear out...
i'm just about to start on Doris Lessing - The Golden Notebook as part of my ongoing new year's resolution not to read any american male authors in 2013. Should I expect good things?
