This might be irrelevant to the thread but

During my underwhelming visit to Tate at the weekend, I glanced at this Paul Nash painting and it set me thinking about how geometric shapes are by and large man-made idealisations. By which I mean, in nature you would rarely find a perfect cube or sphere.

there are no boxes in nature but that is because nature botches everything. nothing goes according to plan.

yah, plenty of geodes left unencumbered will naturally cube. Nature has virtual cubes, but the conditions that bring them out them are easier achieved with mans guiding hand.

Carl Jung used the rigid geometric shapes of gems as a metaphor for how consciousness forms around archetypes.
