Music you are prejudiced against

I don't really care enough about reggaeton to research it, not sure if thats a proper fire breathing prejudice though. more a overwhelming disinterest in how joyful and party hard it all is.

can appreciate just about any groove-based music, its adding passages of melodic noodling on top of that that doesn't appeal to me. so i'd rather listen to funk or blues than jazz.

What about electric Miles? I listened go dark magus and he loved her madly the other day, both brilliant.

Just reading the invisibles at the moment and there's a line just come up:

"The real war's between jazz and rock'n'roll"

(in the context of some on ne talking about USA vs Russia)

certain jazz might have qualities in common with music i like, but the qualities that generally distinguish it as a genre (soloing, brass instruments, reuse of tunes from the 20s) are annoying and lame to me. in other words: in order to fully embrace a genre you can't just pretend it's something else and embrace the instances that most resemble that other thing. why bother, when the other thing already exists? you need to love its cliches, and as a listener i'm not into the cliches associated with jazz. so there's no reason to listen to jazz when i could be listening to something else.

and a few less rational personal associations:

electronic music = audio animation; enveloping, fantastical worlds with their own interior landmarks and mysteries; a surrogate body with enhanced capabilities.

jazz = some AP music theory band geek playing a boring normal instrument, but with tears streaming down their face. or REALLY energetically. or whatever.

i've listened to a decent amount of the record collector jazz canon. kind of blue, a love supreme, out to lunch, black saint and the sinner lady, etc.

I've been saving jazz and bossa nova for when I'm older and don't have the inclination or ability to go out to enjoy dance music
