a proper physiognomy of trump

His voice is camp, reedy... he always feels reactive, bratty. He’s always pushing back against the sensible middle class gaze. It’s impish and insolent - no! A self satisfied child pushing the boundaries

Practically a cliché at this point to describe him as a toddler who's never had to grow up - but that's because it's true.

Reedy and weedy... whining in fact. That's what so odd, Trump and his kids are always whining about the terrible hand that fate dealt them. Someone pointed out that Trump often uses insults that really describe him, but the very best, least self-aware example of that is when Donald Trump Jr moans about Hunter Biden and his supposed crimes in Ukraine or China or Neptune or wherever it was and he says something like "I wish I was like Hunter Biden, I wish I could travel round the world doing nothing and making money off of my dad's name and getting away with crimes." and he says it in this horrible whining way that makes it all so much worse than it already is - I defy anybody to watch that clip and not feel their hand itching to hit him.

his campness is interesting cos i don't think it's natural to him. I think the natural trump is the grab em by the pussy lunkhead trump.

but he adopts this campness, deliberately. why? my guess is that somewhere deep in his pysche - however deep his psyche gets, anyway - it's this feeling that somehow this camp act is what it is to be showbiz.

That's an interesting point. And how it contrasts with his evident obsession with appearing tough and masculine.

Supposedly he wears lifts and that's why he's always leaning slightly forward. It fits with the seemingly endless game of brinkmanship he's playing with everyone at all times. He's forever on the verge of toppling over.

He lies about his height as much as his weight... did you guys see that the doctor who certified Trump as the fittest president ever died the other day?
Trump camp? Maybe at times but it's distinct from the whininess I'm taking about.
As an aside I used the word camp to describe a song the other day and one of my Portuguese friends asked what I meant - V told him it meant "gay" but I got bogged down trying to say more... but it's a tricky one right?

if you watch the old videos of him in the 80s he seems pretty slick, and even has a bit of a sense of humour apparent, not at all like the president or even the apprentice-firer

This one from the late 90s is relatively interesting,

That's funny the way they cut in a shot of the Trump Taj Mahal after he says his greatest enjoyment is the aesthetic and artistic, I love building great buildings

Yeah, the Liberace comment's spot on. Can imagine him hanging out with Fabio in the '90s, at some Vegas matinee, totally oblivious to any post-WW2 pop culture. An ecosystem of their own.

I'm interested in the logistics - like, how many times does he have to apply the bronzer? Does a cosmetician do it, or does he rub it all over in the mirror? Does he have to top it up every day, or week, or month? Does he dye his hair, and is there a specific shade? Arctic blonde? When he goes for a haircut, does the barber just say "The usual?" Does a security detail stand behind the barber, watching?
