I was intrigued, and I've cheated by doing some internet searches, and it turns out I'm completely wrong - I'm still in shock from finding out the probable answer....

from 1974's Benzaiten LP - they augment the drum machine with "real" percussion. The credits mention it as being an Ace Tone Rhythm Machine, but not the model number, so I'll just post a picture of the MK 1
