I admit, in fact what I'm saying myself, is that capitalism is inherently problematic. What I take issue with is you suddenly clutching your pearls at the shocking revelation that pharmaceutical companies attempt to make money.
There is no "or" about it, they are legally required to do that as...
As do all other industries. The problem is not Big Pharma per se but a system which makes it a legal requirement to prioritise making the shareholders rich above being good at doing whatever it is the company is supposed to do.
Nothing to say about the actual point? ie the first stated aim of all PLCs is to maximise shareholder value... if AstraZeneca do that too - as they must - it doesn't make them any more sinister than any other company in capitalism... presumably you have a problem with that system?
Harry Kane went to visit his former teammate Eriksen in hospital today in a nice gesture.
"He's moving around a bit and able to string together a few basic sentences now so he's definitely making progress" said Eriksen.
I was wondering the same thing... I suppose if you can celebrate when Scotland or Wales or Ireland win then you triple your chances of victory (admittedly to a total of about 1 percent). Celebrating England defeats should bring plenty of joy to make up for that though I guess.
Isn't being scared of the virus and what it will do, who it will harm etc, i.e a general concern for others rather than one's own individual freedom and money, pretty much the same as having principles rather than directly opposed to it?
East Side Radio have this thing where each month they pick one of their regular djs and ask them to write about something for a news letter. You only have a very limited number of words and topics are getting more and more restricted but anyway Lizatron wrote about K Records and her favourite...
It gets better towards the end of summer I find, I guess months of hot temp help. Also there are a couple where it's a bit better, maybe if we go across the river to Caparica or Setubal - but floating smack fantasy will be rudely interrupted up by splashes of freezing water spoiling the idyll...
Gotta admit that without particularly liking him, I certainly thought Starmer would be polling better than he is. I expected more of a bounce from just being "not Corbyn" regardless of his actual policies.
That image sounds very enticing.... need to get a floating sunbed and the rest and go to the beach this week. Problem is the water is always so cold here weirdly enough, it might be almost 30 degrees but the sea near Lisbon is colder than Southend.
