On a Thursday this time for some reason...
Idle Rich and Harrison IV are back again at Desterro, boshing out the usual mixture of acid, ebm and I dunno what. From about 10pm until 4am...
Last few nights have been rocking and all the omens point to this one being a killer too.
Idle Rich and Harrison IV are back once again, slithering around in the dark where we belong, illuminating it every now and again with a blinding energy flash of acid ebm electro or new beat...
I guess this (or something like it) had to happen eventually. Now I haven't seen this yet - have any of you lot? - but from what Taras says, it looks pretty interesting and I'm planning to catch it.
It's this account is what I'm saying
Have you seen this guy? I guess I don't pay attention to these things cos the way it always works is, I never hear of these people and then clearly they cross some threshold and they are EVERYWHERE and everyone knows everything about them - and has ALWAYS known.
Anyway, I often see it said...
OK, the other day I made a fucknig messy and I happen to think rather great mixed up mix of my favourite motorik tunes. It was almost three hours of bangers and when I uploaded it I sank back exhausted and spent, convinced that I had done justice to the genre and laid down almost every motorik...
Fuck it, might as well have a thread
I really like this
And this is essentially the same so I like it too
The bits I don't like as much are the vocals and when the riffing speeds up and moves ashy from the lower tones. But when it's super deep with grinding slow-mo ribs it's almost like...
Like it says in the title, we're back with vengeance on January the 24th at Ocio, we're keeping it free entry, the doors will be at 1930 as they always were, and of course Taras, Igor and Idle Rich will bring the heat in the form of weird, obscure, good and, unquestionably, short films.
I went round my friend Pedro's house to make a tune. He has loads of equipment making one room of their house into a studio bristling with synths and fx boxes and so on, all plugged into some version of Ableton.
Thing is, I had a bit of a feeling that he's too much of a perfectionist, one of...
I actually forgot to advertise this show when live but you can check it out out on this link... this one is kinda low-key but nice I think
Or as I put it at the time...
Marking one year on Mutant Radio this show is a wild ride including Italian libraries, electronic kraut pop and the brand...
This is a sort of companion thread to the male fashion one, but with a different emphasis.
I was out all last night, dirty clubs and bars etc so my friend offered me a change of clothes; a tracksuit that's really comfy, good fit, nice colours etc but it's got that Jordan jumping logo, so I can...
After I started that motorik thread @Benny B requested that I do a motorik mix. And as it was an idea that had been nagging away at me already I was only too happy to accept. A bit later we had our show on Mutant and so we made an hour long motorik mix, it was fun to do and It gave me some ideas...
Raiders of the Lost DARC: Episode VI at Desterro Friday 1st Dec from 2300
With Idle Rich and Harrison IV
EBM, acid and who knows what the hell else all night... and be aware now Desterro is open until four am.
We are back at our favourite venue in Portugal on Thursday, it's very simple, we go on the decks at about midnight and we bang out bangers until about 5am when we leave the crowd begging for more and rush to the bus station to get the first trip back to Lisbon...
This thread is inspired by a number of famous stories about audiences being angered and shocked by modernism... off the top of my head
1. Audiences being so enraged by the confrontational something or other of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring and the Firebird Ball that they apparently rioted, ripped...
Made possibly even worse by its ridiculous, sort of sinisterly twee name... The Nutty Putty Tragedy!
I dunno how well known this, or if any of you will know it or what, but basically Nutty Putty is or in fact was the name of a cave in the wilds of Utah. Apparently most of it is a relatively...
A sort of companion piece to - what is almost universally acknowledged to be the greatest sequence of posts ever on dissensus - the unfortunate names thread.
However, so it's not just a mindless rip-off of that, I'd like to give it a different emphasis. I'm interested less in foreign names that...
