Lots of house heads were all over Dunn's Phreaky MF at the time, which surprised me as this one was released just a few months before and totally slept on.

One of my favourite house tracks of last year, for sure. There's loads of great old Mike Dunn stuff as well (often tougher and on more of a vocal techno angle), but I wouldn't advocate buying everything on sight.

Indeed I do know. Been meaning to get down to one of them but my plans seem to get scuppered every time by either saving to go abroad or other parties in Bristol. Even went down for one of them but ended up staying at the Colony party down the road with Geiom and Matt O'Brian instead - was good vibes!

Depending on which ones you want, the Theo and Moodymann twelves can be quite expensive. The Moodymann ones moreso, but do have a look on Discogs and see what you can find.

An interesting development is that now when sellers go to list a record for sale, it shows them the average selling price. This is helpful for buyers looking for a decent price, as all too often a seller will go and see how much others are pricing up the record and then put it at a similar price - no matter how long the record has been sitting there unsold! The average selling price thing means that new records are now turning up at reasonable prices when the price level has been artificially inflated previously.

I recently got myself the Moodymann "Dance If U Want 2" double pack along with Theo's "Music"/"Moonlite", Lil Louis' "Frequency", the Gemini record above and K Alexi's "My Medusa"/"Vertigo" - all for $100 including shipping to the UK.

Also, make sure to check to see if the tracks are on any compilations. Can often save you a chunk of money, but watch out for comps from the late-'80s-early-'90s that cram about half an hour of music onto each side as the pressing will be crap and also quiet (making it pretty impossible to mix without cranking the gain to double what the other record is on).

Yeah, met him in Turin while I was reviewing the Club To Club festival and he was really sound. Also happy to ID a Glenn Underground track from earlier in the night, which I'd been looking for for ages!

yeah i've never been a fan of that sorta house, straight 4 4 never really unless it was balanced out with offbeats sloppy stuff, like what mills does at his best or robert armani at his best.

here she just sounds like she's just loosing it over waves of synth strings here, like it's the gospel of ecstacy, it's quite a unique record.
