Even the Mail is after Johnson now, what do we infer from that? Possibly that the Tories will be in power forever anyway so they might as well tell the truth about them...

That truss interview where she keeps repeating the same thing again and again is brilliant. Chris Morris feeling on it.

I reckon @martin probably has a Whitehouse record featuring all off these samples.

BBC and ITV are now reporting that Johnson did indeed say that thing about the bodies piling high.... at first he denied it and then seemed to change his strategy to "people don't care" which may yet be true.

I think the people who do care wouldn't be surprised, this isn't likely to change anyone's feelings on him and what he represents.

I can't help thinking that they'll still think he's been doing the best he can and there's no way anyone else could have dealt with the situation better. This entire country seems to be becoming institutionalized at this point.

People are losing the ability to imagine a world in which they aren't being fucked ragged by Tories, so they just treat it as an inescapable fact of life that only some wet-behind-the-ears idealist would suggest there might be an alternative to.

A particularly annoying interview..... I hate this thing when they are just programmed to repeat a soundbite so the press has only one thing to report, she sounds like a malfunctioning robot.

OK looks as though the answer that Truss kept failing to give is that the Tory party paid for it and Johnson has paid them back...

I understand CCHQ (Tory Party) made payment to the Cabinet Office to cover initial costs of refurbishing the prime minister's home in Downing Street, and he is now repaying the party.
There is an audit trail. Cabinet Secretary Simon Case knows about it, which is presumably why he told MPs today that he would do a report on the propriety of how the decoration and furnishing was funded.
Downing Street says to me - again - that the prime minister has now paid for the costs of the refurbishment.
But there was a loan to him from the Tory Party. And I assume that loan will now have to be declared by him. You decide whether it was appropriate for his party to give him this kind of financial help.
PS. I assume the PM will declare the loan from the Tory Party pronto. Because failure to do so would be a breach of the Ministerial Code. I am less clear on whether there is an analogous disclosure responsibility on the Conservative Party, but I assume there is.

Basically, that money was just resting in his account.

So... voter suppression now. Why bother, they gonna win every election forever anyway? Imagine a fat arse sitting on a human face forever.
