this newer stuff needs a diff name. calling it wobble doesnt work. cos i just think of tracks like haunted and well, 'classic' dubstep. wobble is more about the lower frequencies. this new stuff is its own thing.

When it came out, did anything sound like 'Spongebob'? There might have been some other tunes along those lines. And it did absolutely kill it at a few nights I went to.

Problem was the attack of the clones.

I can't really listen to wobble with any objectivity, although that changes the less attached I become to dubstep as a scene I suppose.

yeah totally agree.

as i said before, stuff like Haunted etc is wobble using sub, newer stuff like that doctor p track is wobble with midrange. big difference.

new stuff i always just call midrange if it comes up in conversation.

I always assumed it was a stupid name that knucklehead party people here in Australia gave to any imported dubstep that has a particularly wobbly bass.
