What software do you do your writing on?

I am using Microsoft Word X on Mac OS X. As some people maintain a preference for certain inks and papers (claiming it enhances their productivity or creativity), I'm wondering if any of you have developed a similar relationship with your software? What about unorthodox solutions -- text editors, e-mail programs, custom jobs, etc.? My dad recently detailed the horrific procedures involved in doing his thesis on a Commodore 128; I do feel lucky to live in the GUI age, but sometimes firing up Word and staring at that blank document makes me nauseous (even with all the AutoAmericanize, AutoVocabularyReducer "features" turned off). Is this just "fear of the blank page," or is Word the most uninspiring piece of shit ever?

I used Microsoft Office for everything. But since the email program decided to crash every few months, I switched back to Mail as it's easier to store (?) the email address on Address Book and use iSYNC as backup. Does that make sense? Anyway, I still use Word and Excel as it's easier to send PC-users and I'm just used to that program. It's also heaven not having to buy a Japanese Language Kit and just changing the language preferences so I can use kanji/kana for Japanese texts.
