anyone know the tune at 40:00 in the youngsta mix? sounds like it could be an old Skream bit possibly, sounds more futuristic than pretty much everything going now

From the Forward Live Vol 1 mix. Can't quite place who it is really - it's got snares a bit like return II space, a hi end synthline that sounds a bit like the one on walking with Jah and some rasta samples. All of which make it sound like it's dead on for Mala, but I haven't heard much of his stuff from this period with this sort of rhythm, feels just as likely that this could be Benga or Skream.

First time Ive heard that beat, sounds like Loefah or Mala to me. Could possibly be Skream aswell.

??? - ???
Truly Dread - Loefah
Horrow Show - Loefah
Voodoo - Loefah
Give Jah Glory - Mala
Country Man - DMZ
Twisup VIP - Loefah
D1 - Crack Bong
??? - ???
??? - ???
??? - ???
Lost City - DMZ
Awake - DMZ
??? - ???

Can anyone fill in the blanks? Im guessing some of them will be D1 or Skream beats.

just realized that this is most likely where the name came from. probably because he was such a cool explorer, and not for the fact that he was an Irishman working for colonial Britain?

Sounds like Jethro Tull.

oh right. their reconstructed afro-rhythms and concrete soundscaping period. i see EXACTLY what you mean

first disc starts off pretty strong, and other than cringe inducing self serious pretentious monologues about music being the "weapon of the future", even the meandering passages don't bother me. while it is a bit loopy and directionless at times, not easy to make music this noodly sustain interest...
