Maybe I am showing my age here but been listening to Dolby after hearing him for the first time in ages on the Soulwax mix Blue http://www.kevinenjoyce.com/soulwax/forum/viewtopic.php?id=717

- they slide Airwaves into Robert Wyatt's SeaSong and it made me go dig out The Flat Earth and The Golden Age of Wireless. They generally appear to have stood up well - some far more interesting and original that i remember them as - his voice as well much better.

Just thinking that he's kind of an interesting artist who eventually got a bit lost and went into production - seem to remember he did work with Prefab Sprout.

He's probably too uncool for this place but you never know...

first two albums unfuckwithable, the flat earth just about edging it out for me. it's like the male counterpart of kate bush's the dreaming, a very english and eccentric 80s psychedelia. "screen kiss" just impossibly beautiful

alien's ate my buick kinda patchy but worth it alone for the 8 minute epic "budapest by blimp" that manages to successfully combine smooth & mournful fairlight assisted rnb w/ boy soprano and opera singer

jordan: the comeback, the last album he produced for prefab sprout, is beyond classic

and he produced "magic's wand" by whodini !

pretty much genius

his collab w/ sakamoto is p sick

kinda weird that this dude's name doesn't come up more often considering the recent revival of interest in the weirder side of 80s pop

B-side of Hyperactive is good too.

Feels a bit surreal talking about him now. Was definitely 3rd division synthpop at the time.

The future is full of surprises!
