Was thinking of posting the Earth People track. Love that !

Check the bassline on this. Rollling.

Just copped this aswell. The flip is sick!

Bang Diddley, you are costing me money. This whole thread might have been a bad idea. Big up student finance though.

that burrell brothers tune is far too much, not sure whether to pick up the comps - more attracted to picking my faves and buying the originals, pretty expensive - but I much prefer DJing that way

mistersloane

heavy heavy monster sound
That Hot Music track is a Giles Peterson classic. He musta dropped that one for about a year at one point. Or maybe it was just one tape I kept playing, but really associate it with him.

Yeah, was big tune for some* of the jazz dancers up north (* some refused it to dance to it as it was too housey)

few more spots... just plowing around Detroit and Chicago (etc)...

here's an early one from 430 West... this song is soaking in the same amazing sappiness as Sunlight in My Eyes by Mood II Swing... that vocal and the almost Reese-y bass...

early garage bit from Brett Dancer... this guy, and his label track mode, look interesting, would like to hear more cuts from the first few eps...

while i'm at it, a cut from Shake's EP on Track Mode...

also trying to dig up a bunch of old K-Alexi stuff, this one is pretty techno for this thread, the slow mix (not on youtube) would maybe be more appropriate... but either way i did want to ask folks if they had any particular KA recommendations...

One of Kerri Chandler's best tracks, Tears of Velva

Personally I think he's let down by his kickdrums, they are far far too loud. Maybe they're not as eardrum-splitting over a club soundsystem?

dunno about too loud but the kick drum dropping out whenever the bassline comes in is making my head spin a bit

I have about 7 tunes of his, all bar one has painfully loud kickdrums over my hi-fi. If anything I'd imagine they sound worse in a club. Such a shame given how good some of his stuff is.
