Somerset house celebrating black creativity with white middle class djs playing afro pop and funky house and white middle class people selling jerk chicken. Lol. Just paid£10:50 for a drink cos I like the tune they were playing

i found a new local radio station that plays a lot of afrobeats and i've found some nice new tunes. i kinda forgot about this music. i love being in the kitchen and moving around on it.

I've been on a similar tip. think its the sunny weather & painting outdoors got me in the mood to go back to some afrobeats podcasts I used to listen to a lot. Been playing this a lot past couple days.

It's about time someone took a stand. Barty has already declared African drumming to be 'rubbish', an inspiring intervention.

I do like advancing a controversial opinion. My best controversial opinion was that jazz only existed so it could be sampled by hip-hop.

Sadly you and others persuaded me to listen to jazz and I had to adopt a more measured and boring opinion.

Good question. I can't actually remember. The DJ looked like a lanky version of Josef K but wearing a bucket hat.

I don’t know anything about it. I seem to like a lot of stuff from Guinea, but I don’t know why.

you could make a very good argument that contemporary west african pop is the worst in the whole world
