Loved that 1st wave of afrobeats from 10 years ago, Ghana especially, had high hopes for the UK scene but when it finally did arrive I just wasn't interested. Jamaica's still where it's at, where it's always been at really

that comment was partly motivated by the group of young africans thats been shouting hollering laughing blasting out their trite bibblegum music and generally being happy and having a great time non fucking stop for the last two days somewhere near my flat

I just got back from back from a family beach hotel holiday on the costa de la luz where I've been subjected to nonstop high volume latin pop and reggaeton for a week, so count your blessings.

Not one page of the book I took with me read. Not even one.

i used to have south american neighbours that blasted that out at insane volumes for years dont worry i know how it is.
