i fully expected to not really care for the mark radford rinse mix cd, but i find i kind of enjoy it.

I've got confused feelings about the house/techno scene right now. On the one hand I think there's a lot of ace stuff coming out (I've been mostly buying house records over the last few months), but not a lot of it is really pushing the scene forward. The only artists I can think of off the top of my head who are really progressing things are Kassem Mosse (especially with his stuff with Mix Mup) and Actress.

I think that that's reflected in the fact that this thread is mostly people (including myself) posting links to tracks and mixes and saying 'this is ace!'. There's no real discussion of where things are going. But most of the tracks and mixes linked to are ace in my opinion so I don't know if it really matters

I'm not sure about it in terms of progression, but the stuff being made with looser hands or as 'outsider techno' is kinda piquing my interest lately. Wrote a bit of a half-baked article about it but it's got some of the stuff i've been enjoying.

the Fitzgerald stuff...I wouldn't say it's shit, but I find it terribly dull. well produced but I think he sounds like he's making photocopies of other people's music.
