I just watched a film called The Wretched which was OK. I'm not too up on modern films, or at least, i don't go to the cinema half as much as I'd like, so sometimes I find myself just googling things such as "Best films of 2020" just for tips on things I might have missed and then pulling out a few to check later. One such film I found was a horror which apparently a lot of the critics had rather enjoyed. So, I checked the trailer on youtube and, while a quick glance at that revealed that it was hardly gonna re-invent the wheel, I thought that it looked pretty creepy, and the vast majority of comments underneath were very positive (and what could possibly provide a better and more objective set of reviews than that).
Anyway, watched it and it was fine. I dunno, there were things that I liked about it, I guess the plot was decent enough, the acting was good. In fact, the way the main character interacted with other normal people as not part of the main horror plot was actually rather better than most. But somehow it didn't add up for me, the film wasn't scary and the pacing was a bit weird. And the twist was kinda rubbish.
