How crap is Cameron?

I sometimes think I'm so blinded by knee-jerk loathing of Tories in general that I can't tell the crap from the really really crap.

So how crap is Cameron? And would they really be better off ditching him before the next election, something that's now more likely than the LDs ditching Clegg according to one commenter I saw yesterday?

The degree of managerial incompetence is pretty stunning, so much so that even those who support the broad small-state anti-welfare policy think he's hopeless.

But who would take over? Boris? Don't make me laugh. Hunt and Snapps are both damaged goods, at least for short term, and some are so desperate they're even talking up Theresa May. Hague has too much, um, baggage. The only one I'd fear is Gove, who is a vile goldfish-faced cunt (c) but could be really dangerous, especially if he learns to stop talking to adults like we're all about eight years old.

I think I wrote in another thread that he's in Worst PM Ever territory. Sometimes I think the incompetence will save us from the worst of the evil, eg NHS sell off is now totally stalled cos Lansley and Cameron fucked it up so bad.

It's not just Cameron, tho- they are all incapable cunts. IDS's benefit cuts are
going down well at the moment but Universal Credit will be a gargantuan, multi dimensional clusterfuck. Eveything about it will be a disaster. I can see that Gove is an option as, despite the fact every teacher in the country hates him, he's yet to fuck up like every single other member of the cabinet.

It's still staggering, and well worth remembering that Cameron couldn't even beat Gordon Brown in the middle of the worst recession for 70 years.

Yeah, UC sounded unworkable when it was first mooted and nothing's happened since to change that. Elected police commissioners is also a terrible idea that's already come back to haunt them once (bye bye Mitchell), as will their war on the young - assuming the dozy fucks make the connection between not voting and being first in line when it comes to getting screwed. (Sorry youngers, but it's true ;))

I would think Gove would be unelectable as PM because he's so unlikable and looks like a goldfish. Still think Boris Johnson will be Tory leader (hopefully not PM obvs); unfortunately he seems to appeal to a vast number of cognitively challenged people.

I've been wrong about Boris before, but I would be amazed if he becomes Tory leader. The Billy Bunter shit works in a showbiz role like mayor but would be a liability as potential PM. Also, by most accounts he has none of the tearoom skills needed to build and maintain parliamentary support (Cameron has much wider political backing, but look at the hash he's making of it if you want to see how hard that is). I think all those people talking up his leadership prospects are simply using him as a popular flagship to make Cameron move right.

I think tomorrow's GDP numbers will be interesting, or the response to them will be. Cameron basically said today that it's good news, and it can't not be given that all the olympic ticket sales were booked into that quarter. So can they start to tell a story about how we're moving in the right direction? And will that stick? Cos I think the next round of cuts are going to fuck us right back into recession...

I look forward to seeing the Tories explain how a Labour-born project of massive state investment has dragged Team UK back from the double-dip.

But he makes for a very attractive MP/TV pundit. I'd like to see him as a junior minister, trying to reconcile his soul with the immorality of politics, that deep sadness in his face, always several steps off-message.

I like to think he's just a serious drink habit and a compulsive philandering streak away from being a Graham Greene hero.
