very nice darkness from massien and bb:

hugo massien x blazey bodynod - badman

and new one from ghosthouse banton:
f your bassline

Massien is one of my favourite producers at the minute, that myndgames tune he did was massive. On another note, am I okay to post one of my own tracks in this thread? Haven't used the forum for years, not sure of the rules.

arun verone had it early on, amazing mixing, so much energy. b2b with Sonny Koko who got shat all over, kind of felt sorry for him, would have been much better if it'd been just Verone.
Majesty took it for best tune selection.
After that it was a bit downhill.
Lance Morgan & Radford were pretty dull, cleared out the floor with some Lana del rey and other boring vocals, Bad Bassline VIP was ok but a lot of Radford's tunes seem to be heading a lot more mainstream trad house
don't think Lee Edwards played which was a disappointment.
Vibe was pretty good, great sound system. Shame they kept pushing it into distortion.
Majesty's pretty bad for that, tunes end up sounding like industrial techno.

shuffling doesn't work so well in a small really crowded venue. got stamped on a lot.
way too many selfies being taken/ people filming themselves dancing but maybe that's just me showing my age....

re: boring vocal tunes i hear that still, have had enough 90s house with a garage bassline to last me a lifetime

not surprised on majesty having the best selection or fucking up the system he always always seems to do that

no b3 wudve been disappointing im sure

might reach house of joy or suttin on boxing day need to get out

like i say im trying to get back into things, been out of the loop for 4+ months now which is a world of time tbh

but when i was in the loop i pretty much always checked for

eastside records, house entertainment, strange static, anything audiowhore/majesty related, early arun verone, lance morgans 2013 sets, mr and mrs smith, jack n danny

pretty reliable sources with the first two being pretty much treasure troves for all good n original

RS4 is a badman for giving that away. If Hugo gave out Made You Look Remix that would make Christmas complete. It has been up on soundcloud for over a year now I mean common there's waiting for a release then there's taking the p*ss.

lol innit bro. i'm 23 yet as someone who's never owned a smart phone and doesn't intend to i find it all pretty perplexing. for fear of coming across a grumpy old man i say let ppl have their fun tho

a lot of Radford's tunes seem to be heading a lot more mainstream trad house
reading blackdown's interview and listening to him on his show, i think he feels perhaps a sense of injustice that audio rehab/the scene isnt getting the attention it deserves and he could give the big boys a run for their money. would be disappointing to see him not do it on his own terms tho and lean towards the mainstream instead

My iTunes folder (bar the Top Shelf Material releases) has been dead with new material from September onwards.
saying that yet having seen rs4 drop little man for free, carnao beat's 'paint out the sun' free dl and with definition audio, shadow music, eastside, mfr and sotu recordings all release great stuff since oct just proves how healthy things are right now. agree with carnao and trilliam how a lot of tunes getting a little samey tho -
@Daggazz, believe its due in jan tho on an audio rehab remixes ep. radford's been playing a remix of louie anderson's 'la coca' last cpl of shows that i hope is on there. agree that its been a ridiculous wait for a release on the made you look remix, thing is tho the tune aint got old one bit. for me anyways, whereas i dont wanna hear 'drunk in love' for a good while...

Didn't make frequency in the end, despite Lance Morgan being a dude and making sure I could get in without ID. (Mate didn't want to go.) That's mad that Lance and Radford cleared the dancefloor, would have expected quite the opposite.

the trouble with having Arun Verone on at 12 is that everyone playing after just looks like they're not even trying.

cleared is an exaggeration but a lot of people headed out

To be fair I was surprised to see them scheduled so late, assuming its cos Radford was playing at House of Love (?) the same night. Last time him and Carnao were on at peak time pretty much.

Lol we must have been at a different night or something. I mean, I've found at all of the 8 or so deep tech nights I've been to that tunes don't really get 'reactions' like in faster genres - it's people dancing to house music all night long, much more of a constant flow than everyone jumping up and down. Thought Radford's set went down very nicely, as least where I was right at the front. I noticed the venue very slowly emptying out from around 4:30, but I definitely didn't notice Radford clearing the floor. I mean, as closing time gets nearer, more people go home, pretty standard stuff.

Lee Edwards was playing b2b with Radford the whole time! and he played exclusively Eastside bangaaaaz! Loads of Archie B, Creative Minds etc

Lance Morgan was sick, mad techy stuff, alongside big vocal bangers - had a proper moment when he dropped Luke Larwell's London Grammar refix.

Agree re: too many people to shuffle.

Disagree re: Arun Verone: strong first half, went into some pretty forgettable stuff in the second half.

Wicked night overall, energy levels were high constantly, crowd was friendly, music never dipped below 'good' and there were lots of wicked moments, some mad tracks I've never heard before plus all of my favourite tunes of the last few months. Honestly not sure how we got such different impressions lol

what was it saying? who was d best, quick rundown?

Been wondering where you'd gone, glad to see you're back

I agree with some of the comments posted here, the output of the scene really seemed to drop off in the second half of the year. My iTunes folder (bar the Top Shelf Material releases) has been dead with new material from September onwards. I know some of the guys have a lot lined up for 2015, couple really exciting things happening, just hope the raves continue to be as good as they have been

MFR and Definition Audio have had wicked latter halves of the year, Audio Rehab and +Recording's last few releases have all been wicked, Strange Static have released a bunch of great free downloads plus their first EP, Zephron did those wicked AR and Majesty releases, the last AR on Audio Whore is one of the best releases the scene's produced, Eastside have continued smashing out dank dirty riddims - albeit at a slower pace than before the summer (though that's in the context of Storm running off with a bunch of tunes and trying to start a new label...)

The only label who's fallen off is House Ent, who have released like two EPs in 4 months or something, but otherwise it seems like everyone's putting out fire ATM. literally have no idea where all the doom and gloom is coming from

like all things its subjective innit, definitely didn't see Lee Edwards though, everytime I looked at the decks all I could see was Radford's bald head....

i was pretty spangled at frequency, as datwun will be able to confirm, so memory's pretty hazy. had an absolutely banging night tho. majesty's and arun verone's sets were massive highlights. so glad to have finally seen verone, skills on deck take the piss.

i went along with a mate who usually attends nights like 'trust', lineups that include the likes of Ron Morelli, Boiler Room's faves etc etc. glad to say he was a total convert. the vibe was great in there, people dancing all the way to the back of the room, dizzled up chats and general friendliness. club system was really good, maybe a little too loud at times but that's probably cuz i get worried about my hearing.
