Hey ya'll! I've been lurking here for a long time and am just posting to get your guys' opinion on something.

I love jackin house and all the dark tech stuff coming out of Britain and have for a while so when it started to kind of take off here in the US, I was ecstatic. I know it's not the same, but that mostly comes down to dance music all evolving from EDM instead of really have other avenues. The sound is definitely more in your face, like this

But here, the sound has definitely become indebted to hip hop, with people like Destructo pushing it quite hard.

There's others like Kayliox and Drezo who are in the same boat

Here everyone calls this type of music 'Future House'. I was just wondering what y'alls opinion is on it since while it definitely owes a lot to the jackin and deep tech genres, but definitely veers off into more mainstream friendly music. A lot of this music reminds of Chris Lorenzo's early remixes like the C.R.E.A.M. and No diggity remixes.

'He gives an example of this regrettable reality. "I was reading recently about some supposed new genre called deep tech which is apparently massive in the UK now. Maybe it is, but the music just sounds like bad tech house. People just want things packaged in a new way, so they'll think it's cool for a few months and then move on to the next repackaged thing." "It doesn't matter if you're a house legend from Chicago or whoever," he continues, presumably referencing a recent episode with Felix Da Housecat getting denied entry at Berghain. "If you're not acting the right way then why should you be treated any differently? No one owes you a living."

scuba is up there with mosca for being one a them horrendously unaware dudes

this one from a mosca interview always stayed with me

I have respect for people who have respect for history and tradition in music. But at the end of the day we’re free to do what the fuck we like. If kuduro or baile funk can rob off ‘western culture’, then why not the other way round? It smacks of positive discrimination.

The crazy thing with Made U Look is the third drop that happens towards the end of the track which you usually don't hear cos it gets mixed out.

Gonna peep that Jay Power set soon when I have three hours spare. Not been keeping my ears on the ball for a while now.
