you dont always have to adopt the defensive posture. sometimes you can say, 'oh yeah lol, i contradicted myself, i just say any old shit so what do you expect'

from the brexitdownsoundboy on page 27.

really? loads of those tapepacks in this threads have hosts, are they that different to Tippa?

and while its clearly about abandon, if anything i find this scene too sonically "intelligent", too clean, too Euro.

i find this with house heads a lot tho: i take a macro view and see the similarities, they take a micro view and see the differences. i think the differences are too minuscule to be called differences; they disagree.

"nah mate, banging techy house is completely different to techy banging house, you have literally no idea..."

"erm but you have 4 straight kick drums a bar, offbeat hats and techy pads that keep repeating a lot."

"exactly!"

"we're done here..."

Absolute howler.

also my next mix is going to be house-orientated with a few deep tech tunes, but i suppose you'll find it dreadfully boring.

i do find your housephobia fascinating. it's like you recoil from it as soon as its mentioned, with no discernable reason. It's actually a bit like the gabbaphobes on the forum.

but i always remember as a teenager how bored and itchy and restless and disatisfied i'd feel if for whatever reason i had ended up in a house or techno club. i couldn't last more than an hour maximum. the monotony of it drove me up the wall. and the people in house clubs are too blandly good looking.

although you probably went to soulful house clubs, which as a rule require you to dress sharp — i have never intentionally been to one of those. strictly dubby and druggy bizniz!

yeah maybe, i dont know. im not a nightlife person.

You just need to get super hammered before you turn up then do a pill and get even more hammered to some german acid. you'll fucking love it. Maybe @IdleRich can point you in the right direction, I hardly go out anymore.

Regretting not making it to that night for the nostalgia listening back to Hugo's set, went to E1 last summer to see Ellen Allien and thought it was one of the better venues still existing in London - awful toilets though.

Seems like deep tech has re-branded itself as hybrid house. It continues the original deep tech sound, but being much more grittier.

weren't people like paul robinson and pathogen beats always referring to themselves as 'hybrid house'?

some of the mixes on paul robinson's soundcloud sound heavy tho. stands up with the original sound
